When spraying DiamondFinish Clear, thinning requires a slower evaporating solvent than standard paint thinner — fast evaporants cause the coating to dry too quickly, leading to orange peel, dry spray, or poor flow-out.
You can thin DiamondFinish Clear 10% to 15% with KBS #1 Thinner, which is normally adequate for spraying, and up to 30% when conditions call for it. KBS #1 Thinner is the recommended thinning product, formulated specifically for KBS topcoats.
