My DiamondFinish Clear has thickened some. Can I thin it?

Can I thin or reduce DiamondFinish Clear?

Yes — under most circumstances you can thin or reduce DiamondFinish Clear using KBS #1 Thinner or Xylene. Thinning brings DiamondFinish Clear back down to a standard spray viscosity by replacing the solvents that have evaporated off during storage. If needed, this can typically be done a few times before the coating is no longer usable.

Pro Tip

Add thinner in small increments — start with 5–10% by volume and test the spray pattern before adding more. Over-thinning can affect film build and gloss.

Before starting your project, review the complete DiamondFinish Clear Application Directions for full coverage rates, recoat windows, and thinning ratios.
