KBS MAXX Clear on Wood
Absolutely. KBS MAXX Clear is an ideal clear coat for wood because of its durability and incredible finish. Wood surfaces should be smooth and dry with low moisture content. Thin/reduce the initial coat of KBS MAXX Clear 30-50% with KBS #1 Thinner and apply a single covering coat to seal the wood. Allow to cure 24 hours.
Pro Tip: Expect to Sand After the First Coat The wood will generally need to be sanded smooth again, since KBS MAXX Clear tends to raise the wood grain with the first coat. Sand the surface smooth with a fine grade of sandpaper (280-320 or higher) before continuing. |
Apply at least one additional full coat of KBS MAXX Clear for general applications, and at least a minimum of 3 coats for marine or industrial use.
