When spraying Motor Coater, the following spray pressures are recommended:
- Siphon / Pot guns: 35–45 psi (250–330 kPa)
- Gravity / Top container guns: 25–35 psi (170–250 kPa)
Thinning of 5–10% is normally adequate. Use KBS #1 Thinner or Xylene only — both are slower evaporating solvents specifically designed to work with Motor Coater for a smooth, professional finish.
💡 Pro Tip
Only use KBS #1 Thinner or Xylene to thin Motor Coater. Their slower evaporation rate allows the coating to flow and level properly — fast evaporating solvents can cause dry spray and poor adhesion.
Before you begin, review the complete Motor Coater application instructions for full prep, thinning, and spray guidance.
