I am looking to apply XTC to a furnace exterior. Can the temperature curing be done by burning the furnace at a low temperature? How long?

Yes. Bring the furnace exterior surface temperature up to 350°F slowly, hold for 30 minutes, then allow it to return to room temperature slowly — at that point your XTC will be fully cured.

For an exterior application, apply 1–2 thin, covering coats of XTC Primer before the XTC. The XTC Primer provides the critical rust protection layer beneath the finish coat.

💡 Pro Tip
Always bring the temperature up slowly and let it return to room temperature slowly. Rapid temperature changes can compromise the cure and adhesion of both XTC Primer and XTC.

Before you begin, review the complete application instructions for both products to ensure proper prep, coat thickness, and temperature cure.
