Can KBS MAXX Clear be used to clear coat a raw wood surface that has been dried? I love the durability of KBS MAXX Clear and want to be sure it will work on wood as well as metal.

Absolutely. KBS MAXX Clear is an ideal clear coat for wood because of its durability and incredible finish. Wood surfaces should be smooth and dry with the wood having a low moisture content. Thin/reduce initial coat of KBS MAXX Clear 30-50% with KBS #1 Thinner and apply a single covering coat to seal the wood. Allow to cure 24 hours. The wood will generally need to be sanded smooth again as KBS MAXX Clear will tend to raise the wood grain with the first coat. Sand the surface smooth with fine grade of sand paper (280-320 or higher). Apply at least an additional full coat of KBS MAXX Clear for general applications and at least a minimum of 3 coats of KBS MAXX Clear for marine or industrial users.

As always, before you start your project, carefully read and follow the KBS MAXX Clear Application Directions.
