Yes, to provide rust protection, it is always best to prep and then apply at least two coats of RustSeal on the prepped surface (KBS Klean/RustBlast or sandblast) before you apply KBS Patch. For best adhesion of the KBS Patch to RustSeal, allow the RustSeal to fully cure 24 hours and then scuff the RustSeal with 300 grit before applying the KBS Patch to the surface.
