When repairing my trunk, when do I apply a seam sealer?

When doing a trunk restoration, applying a seam sealer to the seams creates a nice, finished look. The key when applying a seam sealer is to get the seam prepped and sealed to prevent rust before you apply the seam sealer. If you just apply seam sealer to the bare metal seam, you run the risk of rust forming under the seam sealer.

So, with the KBS Trunk and Floorpan Repair Kit, prep and then coat the surfaces with RustSeal. Apply your seam sealer once the last coat of is dry-to-the-touch and does not leave a fingerprint (usually 3-6 hours depending on temperature and humidity). This ensures excellent adhesion between the RustSeal and the seam sealer.
